  20. We got these new laptops.  NEC 6010H are nice, but we have had a few
  21. problems with them.  Here is "one" of them.

  23. I use K95 1.1.9 and a null modem cable to talk to the managment port on
  24. our chipcom concentrators.  I run K95, type 'set port com1', 'set speed
  25. 9600', 'set term type vt100', 'set carrier off'.  I type 'c' and
  26. connect.  After working for a little while(defined as more then 1 but
  27. less than 5 minutes)  I get a "TRANSMISSION BLOCKED 14" message at the
  28. bottem of the screen.  It counts down to zero, and I get disconnected. 
  29. If I run K95 again, I get another 1-5 minutes of use.  I wish I had
  30. timed it exactly, but was too busy racing against the clock to get to
  31. ports configured.

  33. What could the be?  If it were a hardware conflict, i.e. IRQ, then I'd
  34. expect it not to work in the first place.

  36. The laptop is a NEC Versa 6010H Pentuim 133 w/32MB RAM 1 Gig HD, 3COM
  37. 562 (Modem and LAN card), it had a second internal modem(the one in the
  38. PCMCIA card is going, the others are on order), and the usual IR ports. 
  39. The "other" problem is eluded to in the beginning of this message were
  40. with trying to get the 3COM card to NOT lock the system.  There was a
  41. conflict with the IR ports. Any Ideas?

  46. Sorry about the test message a few days ago, for the past 2 months, my
  47. newsserver and I have been at WAR.  It was bloody, it was long, but I
  48. won. :-)
